Montessori & Montessori Lab Curriculum
100% Aligned with India’s National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for Ages 2 to 6.
How Our Montessori Lab Works
We follow the Montessori approach — updated for today’s children. Our teachers guide; they do not lecture. Children learn by doing, at their own pace, through scientifically designed hands-on materials in our Montessori Lab.
In traditional schooling, children are forced to memorize abstract symbols before understanding what they mean. At Aarlo Preschool, every concept is introduced concretely first:
- Experience First with Materials: Children touch, sort, build, and explore self-correcting learning tools with built-in Control of Error.
- Three-Period Name Lesson: Teachers guide children through (1) Naming/Introduction, (2) Recognition/Association, and (3) Recall.
- Curriculum Books & Reinforcement: Once the child grasps the concept concretely, they transition naturally to aligned activity books, reading, and writing.
- Daily App Observation (No Exams): Progress is tracked continuously in our app without stressful monthly tests.
What Your Child Achieves by Age 4
With 20 months of exposure to our Aarlo Montessori curriculum, children achieve extraordinary literacy and numeracy depth:
🔢 Mathematical Place Value System
Children not only identify numbers but break them into Units, Tens, Hundreds, and Thousands using concrete bead materials.
📖 Independent Phonetic Reading
Apart from recognizing letters of the alphabet, children phonetically read 3-letter and 4-letter words fluently by age 4, accompanied by rhymes and stories.
🎓 Seamless Grade 1 Transition
Prepares children to excel in Grade 1 across CBSE, ICSE, IB, and State Board primary schools.
Every Dimension of Your Child’s Growth
Aligned with NEP 2020 and NCF-FS for holistic physical, cognitive, linguistic, and socio-emotional mastery.
1. Physical Development
Gross motor balance, coordinated movements, fine motor wrist/finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and pincer grip for writing.
2. Language Skills
Sandpaper letters, moveable alphabet, phonics decoding, 3 & 4 letter word reading, rhymes, storytelling, and expressive vocabulary.
3. Logical Thinking Skills
Cognition, pattern sequencing, spatial reasoning, cause-and-effect discovery, and independent problem-solving.
4. Sensorial Skills
Visual, tactile, and stereognostic discrimination of size, colour, weight, texture, sound, and geometry.
5. Social & Emotional Skills
Exercises of Practical Life (EPL), mixed-age cooperation, leadership, empathy, and freedom with responsibility.
6. Numeracy Skills
Number rods, spindle boxes, decimal system place value (units to thousands), and hands-on mathematical operations.
Montessori Learning Glossary of Terms
Absorbent Mind
A young child’s effortless capacity (from birth to age 6) to absorb knowledge, language, and habits directly from their environment.
Concrete to Abstract
A developmentally appropriate progression where children first manipulate physical Montessori materials embodying an idea (like size, quantity, or place value) before moving to abstract symbols and writing.
Control of Error
Built-in instant feedback within every Montessori Lab material that allows a child to self-correct independently, protecting self-esteem and intrinsic motivation.
Exercises of Practical Life (EPL)
Purposeful daily-life activities (pouring, sorting, tidying, self-care) that build motor control, concentration, independence, and social responsibility.
Freedom with Responsibility
Allowing children the autonomy to choose learning materials that spark their curiosity while teaching them to respect peers and return materials neatly.
Sensitive Period
The critical 0–6 year biological window of opportunity when a child’s brain is most receptive to acquiring language, order, sensorial refinement, and social skills.
Three-Period Name Lesson
A proven three-step Montessori method for introducing new concepts: Period 1 (Naming/Introduction), Period 2 (Recognition/Association), and Period 3 (Recall/Verification).
Prepared Montessori Environment
A scientifically prepared classroom where self-correcting materials are arranged with purpose and order to promote stress-free, independent learning.
Fine & Gross Motor Skills
Coordination of small hand/wrist muscles (for writing grip and precision) alongside large full-body muscles (for balance, running, and posture).
