The transition from home to Playgroup or Daycare can initially feel overwhelming for 2-to-3-year-olds who are spending time away from their parents for the first time. At Aarlo Preschool, we never rush a child’s emotional adjustment.
During the initial days, new toddlers are welcomed into our dedicated Settlement Corner — a calming space equipped with water play, sand art blocks, painting, and picture books, paired with a gradual time-progression schedule that gently builds up to a full school session.
Once settled, toddlers engage in Exercises of Practical Life (EPL) — purposeful daily-life activities like pouring, sorting, tidying, and independent eating. We encourage parents to send nutritious ‘finger foods’ so children can explore the look, touch, smell, and taste of food independently without pressure.
If your child is not yet potty trained, there is no need to worry. Every child develops at their own pace, and our caring child support staff guides children to the child-friendly washroom at regular intervals with warmth and care.
